These fringe folk can be the principal focus for the church’s evangelistic events and activities and well as the primary audience for a regular outward-facing church newsletter – see Idea8. Some groups include telling Bible stories, singing Christian songs and some even a Thought for the Day spot. Art and craft activities can be based on Bible stories. Some groups continue or relocate into the “sanctuary” periodically or seasonally (Harvest, Christmas, Easter) into a simple service.

The vital thing is to ensure that as well as church members making the event work (registration, refreshments, crafts etc) there are also other Christians present simply to develop relationships and to talk about Jesus. Ideally these will include the minister / outreach worker / community worker.

There are many organisations offering advice and support for church based groups working with parents/carers and Toddlers. See in particular
