It is not the case that we believe the resurrection happened because we believe the Bible. The opposite is the case. We believe the Bible because the resurrection happened and that event in history proves to us that we can trust Jesus. And because we put our trust in Jesus we know we can trust the things He said and did. And we can trust that God inspired the Bible to give us a reliable record of all the things Jesus and his first disciples said and did and everything the first Christians believed.

Listen to the apostle Peter’s first sermon at the birth of the church on the day of Pentecost.
22 “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. …. (King David) spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. … 36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is God’s proof that Jesus is indeed his chosen one, the Messiah, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
